Find your drone.

Choose Sa–Pa or Sa–Ma, then select a shared source note and octave. Mix four tanpura voices with separate power and volume controls. Use Tanpura Lab with your iPhone in landscape.

Shape each voice.

Open a voice's pedal chain to explore delay, six reverb characters, saturation and five-band tone shaping. Each effect has a bypass control so you can hear what it adds.

The Tanpura tape control switches that voice between Original / 1× speed and −1 octave / ½ speed. Half speed lowers the recording one octave and slows its plucks.

Keep a sound you like.

Begin with ten Starter Sounds, then save your own combinations of voices and master settings. Save, Save As and Rename keep your presets in the app's local storage on your device.

Let it play.

The included recordings and effects work offline. With Master power on, playback can continue when you leave the app or lock your iPhone. Tanpura Lab mixes with other audio; calls, output changes or iOS can interrupt playback. The support guide explains when to resume manually.
